October 18, 2013 (ISN) – Athletics Canada Head Coach Peter Eriksson announced today the standards for the marathon at the 2014 Commonwealth Games which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland.
Eriksson made the announcement during the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon press conference. The Canadian standards are 2:35:00 and 2:15:00 for the women and men respectively. As the Commonwealth Games team is quota based; hitting these standards will ensure athletes are in the selection pool of eligible athletes to be named to the team.
Also at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon press conference today were Canadian elites Krista DuChene of Brantford, Ont., Eric Gillis of Antigonish, N.S., Lanni Marchant of London, Ont., and Natasha Wodak of Port Moody, B.C.
