October 17, 2013, VICTORIA (ISN) – On Thursday night at Wurtele Arena in Naden, the Victoria Hockey League was underway once again as the Sharks and the Stars faced off at 8:30 PM. With Mike Edison between the pipes for the Stars, Dave Brumby was in for the Sharks.

At 19:07 into the first period, Pat Papineau put his team on the board on the power play, which was followed shortly after by another power play goal scored by Jeff Baldrey at 16:59.

The Sharks would have their turn now, plotting two before the period ended. Brett Carter scored one at 12:30, and then Brian Passmore scored a power play goal at 9:58, evening the score at 2-2.

Jackson Wilson of the Stars opened the scoring in the second period by burying two in behind Dave Brumby. The first was at 19:13 and the next was a shorthander at 15:05 changing the scoring to 4-2 Stars.

Two more pucks found their way past Brumby, both scored by Trevor McNeil at 13:36 and 13:13.

Then Steve Taylor scored the Sharks third goal at 12:51, but the celebration was short lived because the Stars answered back with three more of their own before the game’s end. The first of the three came at 9:42 and was scored by Jeff Morberg, followed by another from Andy Rogers at 7:28 and the final goal of the game came at 3:46 and was scored by Pat Papineau, which was his second of the night.

The next Victoria Hockey League game will be between the Penguins and the Stingers which will take place on Saturday October 19th at 8:45 at Pearkes Arena (green).
