VHL Sharks get stung by Stingers, 7-1

October 20, 2013, Victoria (ISN) – October 20, 2013, VICTORIA (ISN) – On Sunday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Center in Victoria, the Victoria Hockey League hosted the Sharks and the Stingers at 8:50 PM.

Dave Brumby was in net for the Sharks and Jason Stone was in for the Stingers.

The Stingers opened the scoring when Greg Simpson buried one behind Brumby at 18:43, followed shortly after by another one by Blake Polischuk at 18:10. The Sharks’ Chad Linger answered back at 17:00 but that would prove to be the only goal scored by the Sharks during this meeting. Two more of the Stingers’ goals were scored before the end of the first period. One at 16:08 by Mark Stinson and then another by Trent Brandvold at 15:22 leaving a score of 4-1 on the board for the Stingers.

Jess Patterson opened the second period with a goal at 11:31, followed by another by Greg Simpson, his second of the night at 6:13, and then one more to finish the game scored by Nick Chalecki at 5:24, ending the game with a score of 7-1 for the Stingers.

The next VHL game takes place on Thursday, October 24th 2013, when the Tritons and the Lions faceoff at Naden Arena (Wurtele) at 8:30 PM.
