TWU Spartans Gommeringer named Canada West 2nd star of the week

October 22, 2013, LANGLEY, British Columbia (ISN) – For the second week in a row, Trinity Western women’s soccer striker Krista Gommeringer (Calgary) was amongst the Canada West 3 Stars of the Week as she was named this week’s 2nd Star after a four-point weekend.

Gommeringer followed last week’s Canada West 1st Star of the Week performance with another impressive weekend as she collected three goals and one assist in helping TWU to wins over then-No. 2 Alberta and Mount Royal.

Playing the Pandas Friday, Gommeringer scored both goals in helping the Spartans to a 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Alberta. The following day, Gommeringer earned a goal and an assist to guide TWU to a 3-1 win over the Cougars and its seventh win in a row.

With her four-point weekend, Gommeringer finished the regular season with a team-high 10 goals and five assists. Her goal total also tied her for top spot in Canada West.
