Wrestling Huskies return with six medals from Dino open

October 27, 2013, Calgary (ISN) – The University of Saskatchewan Huskie wrestling team finished with strong results at the University of Calgary hosted Dino Open on the weekend.

Collectively, the Huskies returned with six medals including five silvers and one bronze at the first tournament of the season.

Shane Johnson (54-kg), 2013 CIS Second Team All-Canadian Dylan Bray (57-kg), Malcolm Meekins (72-kg), Annie Monteith (48-kg) and Victoria Kent (63-kg) all finsihed with silver medals. Jacob Phillips won a bronze in the heavy weight class.

Other finishes for the Huskies included a fourth placing by Andrew Johnson in 82-kg, as well as fifth-place finishes by Mojtaba Kaviani (76-kg) and Drew Kuhn (59-kg). Richard Cux (54-kg), Evan Yaworski (82-kg), Cassidy Beilhartz (59-kg) and Lisa Brise (63-kg) all finished sixth.

The Huskies, who host the 2014 Canada West Championship in February, next compete at the Wesmen Invitational in Winnipeg on November 9.
