October 27, 2013, Victoria (ISN) – On Sunday night the Victoria Hockey League was underway at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre where the Sharks were forced to accept a 10-1 loss against the Lions.
With Dave Brumby in goal for the Sharks and Matt Thomson in for the Lions, the first goal of the game came at 18:01 and was scored by Josh Verbruggen, chalking up the first of five goals for the Lions that would be scored during the first period.

Clayton Lainsbury scored the second of the game at 17:00, followed by Josh Verbruggen’s second of the night at 7:50. At 6:57 Clayton Lainsbury scored his second of the night, followed by the period-ender at 6:41 which was scored by Brody Coulter. The score after the second, 5-0 Lions.

At 18:45 into the second, Tommy Kala buried the puck behind Brumby and then at 16:29 Clayton Lainsbury gets his hat trick changing the scoring to 7-0 Lions.

Then it was Anthony Hordyk’s turn to score for the Lions and that goal happened at 14:55 but the Sharks finally answered back when Wilf Marquis’s puck found its way in behind Thomson getting his team on the board.

Two more goals were scored near the end of the period by the Lions, though, one by Brayden Kmita and another by Devon Lang, ending the game with a final score of 10-1 for the Lions.

The Sharks and the Lions don’t face-off again until November 24, 2013, at Save-On-Foods. Time: 8:50.
