October 30, 2013, Victoria, B.C. (ISN) – The Victoria Royals will host the Red Deer Rebels at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a weekend doubleheader this Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd. The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. both nights.

The Rebels (6-8-0-0) visit Vancouver Island to begin a six-game road trip on Friday. Losers of their last four, Red Deer currently sits at 11th place in the Eastern Conference, but are just four points out of sixth and will host Kootenay tonight. On the offensive side, the Rebels get much of their spark from 17-year-old Conner Bleackley who leads the team with 19 points (8g-11a) in 14 games this year including four powerplay goals. At the other end of the ice, star goaltender and Los Angeles Kings prospect Patrik Bartosak is listed as day-to-day and could return to action in time to face the Royals.

The Royals (9-7-0-1) head into this weekend holding the sixth position in the Western Conference, but are one win and a Kelowna loss away from reclaiming first place in the B.C. Division and second place in the conference. Logan Nelson had an eight-game point streak snapped last Friday night, but still leads the team with 19 points (8g-11a). Steven Hodges, a 2012 third round pick of the Florida Panthers, is set to return from injury and make his season debut for Victoria this weekend and will reinforce the Royals’ offence.
