November 1, 2013, Calgary, AB (ISN) – Jake Kryski scored 4:51 into overtime to lift Team BC to a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Team Manitoba in action at the Western Canada Under-16 Challenge Cup on Friday afternoon.
Kryski, a Kamloops Blazers prospect, also scored the game-tying goal with just 55 second to play in the third period to send the game to overtime and added an assist for a three-point effort for BC, who improve to 2-0 in round robin play. Dante Hannoun also scored and Dante Fabbro picked up two assists in the contest while Brody Willms made 27 saves in the BC net to claim the win.
Nolan Patrick notched a goal and an assist while Tanner Kaspick also counted for Team Manitoba, who led 2-0 going into the third period but allowed three unanswered goals to suffer their second setback of the tournament. Ryan Kubic made 33 saves in the defeat.
Manitoba closes out their round robin action on Saturday versus Saskatchewan while BC finishes its round robin schedule versus Alberta on Saturday.

Game 4: Team Alberta 5 – Team Saskatchewan 1
Calgary, AB – Tyler Steenbergen scored and set up two more as Team Alberta skated to a 5-1 win over Team Saskatchewan in action at the 2013 Western Canada Under-16 Challenge Cup on Friday evening at Father David Bauer Arena in Calgary, AB.
Cole Johnson and Alex Rotundo each picked up a goal and an assist while Mason Shaw and Matthew Phillips added singles for Alberta, which outshot Saskatchewan 45-10 in the contest as they improve to 2-0 in round robin action. Austin McGrath stopped nine of 10 shots he faced to earn the win in his first appearance in the tournament.
Taylor Ross – with his third goal in two games – scored the lone marker for Team Saskatchewan, who managed a combined five shots on net over the final two periods of play as they drop to 0-2 in the round robin.
Alberta and BC now both own 2-0 records in the round robin, meaning they will face off for Gold on Sunday in a rematch of the 2012 Gold medal game. Saskatchewan and Manitoba, both 0-2 in round robin play, will meet in the Bronze medal game on Sunday.
The round robin concludes on Saturday with previews of the Gold and Bronze medal games as Team Alberta faces Team BC (11:00am MT) and Team Saskatchewan meeting Team Manitoba (3:00pm MT).
