November 5, 2013, EDMONTON (ISN) – There are no changes at the top of Canadian Interuniversity Sport rankings for Canada West teams as the Alberta Golden Bears remain No. 1 in men’s hockey and men’s volleyball, while the undefeated UBC Thunderbirds continue to lead in women’s volleyball.

Alberta also stays at No. 2 in men’s basketball, but the Pandas fell two positions to #4, behind the Fraser Valley Cascades at No. 3.

With the CIS cross country meet going on Saturday in London, Ontario, the Victoria Vikes are the highest-ranking Canada Wets team, sitting at No. 5 in both men’s and women’s.

Women’s hockey saw a shuffle among conference teams, with defending conference champion UBC jumping up to No. 6, with Saskatchewan at No. 8 and Regina No. 10.

Also of note is that Canada West schools occupy five of the Top 10 spots in both men’s and women’s volleyball.
