November 6, 2013, Victoria (ISN) – In a Wednesday night match-up at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre, the Victoria Royals welcomed the Edmonton Oil Kings for a midweek contest. The Royals gave Patrik Polivka the start in net, while the Oil Kings countered with Tristan Jarry.

Edmonton opened the scoring at the 4:50 mark when Brett Pollock’s wrist shot beat Polivka glove side. The Oil Kings added a shorthanded marker at the 7:58 mark as Edgars Kulda converted on a two-on-one opportunity. Polivka denied an Edmonton chance to extend the lead late in the frame and the Oil Kings led 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Steven Hodges and Ben Walker each created good scoring opportunities for the Royals in the frame, but Jarry answered for Edmonton and the visitors held a 3-0 lead as the teams headed into the second intermission.
