November 14, 2013, Victoria (ISN) – The Victoria Cougars (15-3-1-1) host the Kerry Park Islanders (7-11-1-3) tonight. Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.

Tonight marks the second game in as many nights for Victoria.

Mark Van Helvoirt and his troops broke out of a 0-2-1-0 slump following a 5-3 come-from-behind victory against the Westshore Wolves last night.

Scoring for the Cougars, who trailed 1-0 after one period and 3-2 after two, were Marino Somerville with a natural hat-trick and David Marshall with a pair.

For Marshall, he now leads Victoria with 14 goals.

Connor Beauchamp made 32 saves for the win.  It was a big improvement for Nanton, Alberta native, who posted a 4.70 goals against average a .839 save percentage during his last two contests.  Beauchamp had allowed nine goals during that span.

Injuries still continue to plague the Cougars as Blake Roney, Mark Walton, Nicolas Bower, Jordan Davie, and Nick Lyons remain out of the lineup.

The Islanders are one of the most improved teams this season.

Although they dropped a 7-0 decision to the Campbell River Storm in their last game, Kerry Park had claimed five out of a possible six points prior to which included wins over the Saanich Braves and the North Island Division leading Nanaimo Buccaneers.

Alex Milligan is eighth in league scoring with 29 points in 22 games.  Tied for 12th place is Braedan Cross who has six goals and 19 assists for 25 points.

The Islanders have played better on the road than at home.  Away from the Kerry Park Recreation Centre, they are 5-5-0-1.  In front of their home crowd, the Islanders are 2-6-1-2.
