Bast Named to Team West Roster


November 15, 2013, Kamloops BC (ISN) – Kamloops Blazers prospect Spencer Bast has been named to Team West (Saskatchewan / Manitoba) and will participate in the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge to be held in Sydney, Nova Scotia December 29th until January 4th.

Bast was listed in July of 2012 and has attended the past two fall training camps in Kamloops. The 16-year-old is in his second season with the Battlefords Stars of the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League. The native of Macklin, SK is leading the league in scoring with 14 goals and 25 points in 17 games this season. The Stars are currently in first place in the 12-team league. 

Bast will join Blazers forward Nick Chyzowski (Team Pacific) at the tournament.

The 10-team tournament has five regional teams in Canada including West (Saskatchewan / Manitoba), Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic (Maritime Provinces). The other five international teams include Czech Republic, Sweden, USA, Russia and Germany.
