November 15, 2013, ESQUIMALT, B.C. (ISN) – The Victoria Cougars scored three goals in the second period to beat the Kerry Park Islanders 4-1 Thursday night.
Ryan Carson, Patrick Webb, Graham Zagrodney, and Wade Johnson scored for the Cougars who improved to 16-3-1-1 on the season.
David Marshall continues to wreak havoc on the opposition. The five-foot-eleven, 205-pound power forward chipped in with a pair of assists to extend his point streak to five games.
Kerry Park, who opened the scoring at 11:26 of the first period on a goal from Francis Slicer, dropped to 7-12-1-3.
Nathan Hargrave was sensational in net yet again. The Abbotsford, B.C. native upped his record to 5-0-1-0 after stopping 23-of-24 shots.
Making 29 saves and taking the loss was Leighton Williams.
Nicholas Bower, Nicholas Lyons, Jordan Davie, Mark Walton, and Blake Roney were not in the lineup for Victoria. All five players were still dealing with injuries.
Called up to fill a couple of voids were forward Brandon Tutte and defenseman Mitch Maloney. Tutte, who plays for the South Island Royals, had an assist in the game.
The Cougars went 1-for-6 on the power play; meanwhile, Kerry Park finished 0-for-4.
Next game for Victoria is Saturday, November 16 against the Oceanside Generals. Game time at Oceanside Place, located at 830 West Island Highway, is 7:30 p.m.
