November 23, 2013, Edmonton, AB (ISN) – The Edmonton Oil Kings’ hot streak came to a screeching halt Friday with an 8-3 loss to the Prince George Cougars at Rexall Place.
The Oil Kings entered the game having won nine of their past 11, but ran into a strong effort from the Cougars who got three goals and two assists from Todd Fiddler, two goals from Troy Bourke and Chase Witala and a goal and two assists from former Oil King Klarc Wilson.

“From start to finish, it was an absolute debacle,” said Oil Kings Head Coach Derek Laxdal. “When you only play one game on a weekend and you have a week of practice and that’s the kind of egg you’re going to lay, it’s a disaster.

“I thought their first shift was great, and from then on it was an absolute turnover fest.”

“He came in, I’m sure he was nervous never having played in front of a crowd like that before … and I thought he stood in there and he played well,” said Oil Kings captain Griffin Reinhart. “He’ll be a good goalie.”
