November 23, 2013, Kamloops BC (ISN) – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack made a comeback to defeat the visiting University of Saskatchewan Huskies 3-2 (0-25,24-26,25-19,25-20,20-18) Friday night on the road in Kamloops, B.C.

Saskatchewan jumped out to the 2-0 lead in the match. The Huskies looked like they would sweep until the WolfPack took over the third set after a 14-14 tie. Stuart Richey gave Thompson Rivers a cushion on two services and TRU kept control to the 25-19 win.

Matching point-for-point until a 9-9 tie in the fourth set, the WolfPack rallied to a 17-12 lead and the 25-20 win to force the fifth set. Saskatchewan wouldn’t give up easy and held at TRU match point eight times before a Casey Knight and Jacob Tricarico block and a Brad Gunter kill sealed the 20-18 win.

With the win, Thompson Rivers improves to 5-4, while the No. 7 ranked Huskies drop to 3-6.

Paul Thomson led the Huskies with 16 kills in the match, while Bryan Fraser added another 13. Fraser and Jordan Nowakowski each tallied 11 digs.

Gunter was impressive recording 22 kills and nine digs, while Knight tallied 15.

The two teams will play again Saturday night at 6:45 p.m. (B.C. time) at the TCC. The match can be viewed on
