November 24, 2013 Victoria (ISN) – Congratulations to the JV Rams on a terrific season advancing to the Provincial semi-finals. By all accounts it was a successful season, and to lose to Terry Fox by a score of 21 to 16 is certainly nothing to be ashamed of…well done coaches and players!

The Varsity Rams are off to the 2013 Subway Bowl after a thrilling 39 to 33 victory over Lord Tweedsmuir. The Ram players showed an extraordinary amount of poise and perseverance in the face of much adversity. The defense came up big with critical stops in crucial situations. The offense executed some huge, key plays. All in all, it was a contribution from both sides of the football…big congratulations to all players!

Marcus Davis was outstanding scoring 4 offensive touchdowns plus a defensive score on a 73 yard “pick six”. Julian Luis scored the other major for the Rams. Marcus had 240 yards rushing and 2 TD’s on 17 carries and hauled in 7 receptions for 168 yards and 2 TD’s. Ashton MacKinnon was stellar completing 13 of 18 passes for 288 yards and 2 TD strikes.

Gavin Cobb had 2 receptions for 93 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, Byron MacKinnon led the Rams with 9 tackles plus 1 sack. James Nicholas was outstanding again with 7 tackles, 2 sacks and a blocked punt. Sheldon Mack was solid with 7 tackles. The twin towers of Christian Krause and Zach Wilkinson combined for 12 tackles plus Zach had a critical blocked convert.

Marcus Davis was also terrific on defense registering 5 tackles, the pick six, 1 sack and a fumble recovery. Seye Farinu chipped in with 6 tackles, Ryan Yeske had 5, Julian Luis and Alec Wong had 3 each. Sean Waugh had an interception of his own. Jonah Merino recovered a blocked punt. The entire staff was so very happy again with the effort and poise you demonstrated Saturday night…well done and you are now going to the 2013 Subway Bowl!
