December 1, 2013, Burnaby (ISN) – The Vancouver NW Giants rallied from one-goal third period deficit to beat the Cariboo Cougars 6-4 on Sunday morning to sweep a two-game weekend BC Major Midget League set at the Burnaby Winter Club.

The Cougars led 6-4 heading into the final period, but the Giants stormed back to secure the win.

Jesse Roach, Riley Pettitt, Dallas Goodwin and Steven Jandric scored for the Cougars, while Lane Delfs took the loss in net.

With the defeat, the Cougars fall to 8-11-1 on the year. The Giants are 16-3-1.

On Saturday evening Pettitt scored twice for the Cougars, but it was the Giants who skated away with a 9-3 win.

Vancouver led 3-0 after the first period and 5-1 after 40 minutes before putting the game away in the third.

Jandric also scored for the Cougars on Saturday and Jeremy Matte handled the duties between the pipes.

Justin Szeto led the way for Giants on Saturday with two goals and three assists.

The Cougars have lost four straight and will conclude their six-game road trip next weekend with a visit to Langley to play the Valley West Hawks.
