December 2, 2013, Prince Albert SK (ISN) – The Prince Albert Raiders finished the month of Movember atop the CHL standings, raising $16,753 for men’s cancers research.
Tyler Dea led the way for the Green and Gold, raising $4550, the highest in the WHL and good for second among all players in the CHL. Other players to hit the $1000 donations mark included Cole Cheveldave ($1785), Josh Morrissey ($1500), MacKenzie Johnston ($1105), Reid Gardiner ($1095) and Craig Leverton ($1000).
A key-part of the month-long drive were the one of a kind Farm World Movember jerseys the Raiders wore when they hosted the Lethbridge Hurricanes on November 23rd. The jerseys were auctioned off following the game, with proceeds going to the team’s Movember campaign.
The total amount raised was the most by any team in the Canadian Hockey League, and triple the next highest team in the WHL.
