December 5, 2013, Prince George, BC (ISN) – The Annual Cougars Christmas Campaign continues tomorrow, Friday, December 6 and runs through Wednesday, December 11. We had a great holiday kick-off last weekend and look forward to continued success over the coming week!
This weekend’s games feature a wide variety of activities, making sure there is something for everyone! Friday, December 6. (vs Tri-City) Friday’s game is in support of The Yellowhead Rotary Club of Prince George who is gathering food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank. Please bring non-perishable food items to support families in our community. This game is also our “Pink in the Rink Night” which features the drawing of the winner of the trip to Mexico contest sponsored by Save-On-Foods. A REMINDER THAT THE WINNING NAME DRAWN FOR THE PRIZE MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE GAME TO BE DECLARED THE WINNER! In addition to the contest give-away, this game will feature another ‘first’ for the Prince George Cougars. In order to raise awareness for breast cancer research, the Prince George Cougars will be wearing pink jerseys which will then be auctioned off online with proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The auction will go online at 7pm on Friday at www.pgcougars.com and will run until noon January 22nd.
The jersey auction has been generously sponsored by Northland Dodge of Prince George. The Cougars and the CBCF thank Northland Dodge for their incredible generosity in supporting this memorable initiative.

Saturday December 7. (vs Tri-City) One of our most beloved game events each year happens on Saturday with our annual Teddy Bear and Toque Toss. When the Cats score their first goal , fans can toss their stuffed animals and toques on the ice. The bears and toques will benefit the Salvation Army and other organizations in need over the holiday season. Our first intermission that game will feature an expo scrimmage by the Prince George Canucks of the College Heights Community Association and a perennial favourite chuck-a-puck, with prizes from four Prince George restaurants. The singing group “Sweet Adelines” will be serenading fans in the concourse of the arena with Christmas melodies throughout the evening.
Tuesday December 10. (vs Kootenay) Tuesdays game is in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association Gift of Hope. Please bring hats, scarves and mitts which will be collected by the CMHA for their clients. Our on-ice intermission contest will be a progressive shootout, with prizes donated by Player’s Bench.
Wednesday December 11. From 6-7pm fans are invited to come to the CN Centre and join us on ice for the Cougars Annual Family Skate. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be provided. It’s a great opportunity for fans to interact with their favourite players on the ice.
All donations will be collected in Section “X” on the concourse level on game nights.
