December 7, 2013, PENTICTON, BC (ISN) –With an opportunity to match a season high win streak, the Penticton Vees didn’t leave it to chance, as they scored an emphatic 7-1 win over the Surrey Eagles at the SOEC. The win is the Vees fourth in a row, which matches a season high established back on September 14th.

The Vees remain in top spot in the Interior Division with 20 wins and 44 points.

Saturday’s game followed a similar script to Friday’s early on, as the Vees got out to another two-goal first period lead. Ben Dalpe broke the scoreless tie eight-minutes into the first when he pounced on a rebound. Bo Didur kicked-out a Chris Rygus point-shot but the puck darted straight out to Dalpe, who wired his 10th past Didur at 8:01.

Brad McClure, who scored twice on Friday night, scored his first of two on the power-play with under two-minutes left in the frame. Dalpe turned from scorer to play-maker, as he sent a sweet feed across to McClure, who went down to a knee and one-timed the puck in the top-corner at 18:30.

The Vees kept coming in the second scoring three more times, Blake Butzow getting things going three minutes in. Butzow let go a shot from the blue-line that hit a Surrey defender and ramped up and over Didur’s glove at 2:55; Butzow’s first goal in a Vees jersey.

Anthony Conti pushed the lead to four seven-minutes later, when he showed-off his hand-eye coordination in front of the Eagles net. Jarod Hilderman sent the puck to the net from the point and Conti deflected it down and through Didur’s legs at 9:55.

Brett Beauvais capped-off the second period scoring, when he picked the corner from the right-wing. Paul Stoykewych slid the puck across to Beauvais, who fired a wrist-shot from the right-circle, which found the corner over the glove of Didur at 16:52; Beauvais scoring in his fifth straight game.

The offense kept coming early in the third period, as Matt Serratore scored his first goal in 12 games two-minutes into the frame. Jack Ramsey made a move to the goal-line at the side of the Surrey net, and then spun a pass across the goal-mouth to Serratore for a tap-in.

Danton Heinen spoiled Olivier Mantha’s shutout bid with just over six-minutes left in the third, when he cashed-in on a rebound in front at 13:51. But McClure would have the final say, as the Vees Captain stole the puck at the Eagles blue-line, moved into the right-circle, and snapped the puck through Didur’s legs at 16:44 to put the finishing touches on rout; McClure’s league-leading 26th goal.
