December 8, 2013, PRINCE GEORGE, BC (ISN) – The Prince George Spruce Kings Junior A Hockey Club would like to congratulate Brandon Manning, an alumni of the team, after his ticket was pulled from the draw barrel on Sunday night as the first early bird prize winner in the Annual Show Home Lottery.

Ticket number 2047 was among the 1,907 tickets in the draw barrel to be eligible to win the Vancouver Canucks Get-Away from Japatedon Travel & Cruises in Prince George.

“I was at the house when Brandon’s mom came in to purchase a ticket for her son,” recalls Spruce Kings Communications Director, Ron Gallo. “She told me she had been talking to Brandon just the night before and had asked him if he wanted to get his ticket now or later. Obviously the answer was now and Mrs. Manning added a stop at the house on her Sunday running around to do list.”

“I didn’t even have time to go in the house and look around,” said Mrs. Manning. “I just wanted to get my son his ticket and promised I would come back and see the house another time. I have heard that the house is amazing and I really want to see it soon, but I had to get the ticket right away.”

Exactly what is going to happen to the prize itself will be up to Brandon, but both mom and dad are hopeful that they will get a chance to use it to see their son play a game against the Vancouver Canucks in the near future.

Manning, who is from Prince George, played for the Spruce Kings during the 2007-2008 season before playing out the remainder of his junior career in Chilliwack and eventual earned a spot in the NHL. Manning is currently playing for the Philadelphia Flyers farm team, the Adirondack Phantoms, in the American Hockey League.

The winning ticket has been placed back in the draw barrel where it now becomes eligible for the Grand Prize draw of the Show Home on May 15, 2014 and all remaining early bird draws including the $2000 Save On Foods Gift Card to be drawn on December 15th.
