Friday, December 13 will see past players, coaches and managers inducted into the Hall of Fame. During the ceremony, awards recognizing various accomplishments from the 2013 USL season will be handed out. Highlanders FC have been nominated in four categories following their Western Conference Championship season. These include the Progress Award, Marketing Award, Executive of the Year and Organization of the Year.

The purpose of the AGM is to celebrate the accomplishments and growth of the Premier Development League (PDL) and USL Pro league over the past season. The meetings begin December 11 with orientation for first-year franchises, while remaining teams will arrive December 12 for the Kickoff Social, an event where various executives of the leagues will have the opportunity  to meet, socialize and discuss a variety of topics including the previous and upcoming seasons. The AGM also provides a forum for managers, coaches and executives to discuss future initiatives concerning the USL.

“’I’m hoping we can make some headway in terms of getting PDL clubs into the Voyageurs Cup,” said de Frias. “Currently this competition is only competed between NASL and MLS Canadian teams.”

The five day event will wrap up on Sunday, December 15 with the Major Beach Soccer National Championship. For more information, please visit www.uslsoccer.com or www.victoriahighlandersfc.com
