December 21, 2013, Abbotsford (ISN) – Steven Jandric scored twice and Jeremy Matte made 20 saves for a shutout as the Cariboo Cougars blanked the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds 7-0 in Abbotsford on Saturday.
Jesse Roach had a three-point for the Cougars, who moved to 10-13-2 on the year, three points ahead of eighth-place Fraser Valley (8-14-3), heading into Sunday’s rematch. The win also lifts the Cougars into a tie for sixth place with the North Island Silvertips.
Roach scored once and had two assists, while Bryan Allbee chipped in with a goal and an assist. Isaiah Berra, Chase Dubois and Jared Stevens also found the back of the net as the Cougars recorded at least a point for the third time in their past four games.
The Cougars and Thunderbirds will play their final league games before the holiday breakon Sunday at 10 a.m. in Chilliwack.
