December 23, 2013 (ISN) – The Victoria Firefighters are teaming up with KidSport Victoria to put on a hockey pool to raise money for kids from families having financial challenges paying for sport registration fees.

In the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games the Victoria Firefighters, in partnership with the Victoria Salmon Kings and local media helped raise funds for KidSport Victoria.

This year the Victoria Firefighters have teamed up with the Victoria Royals and the local media all in support of KidSport Victoria.

At KidSport our mandate is ‘So ALL Kids Can Play’ and we are so appreciative of our community partnership with you, and your generosity in giving children of lower financial situations the opportunity to enjoy & participate in community sports! All proceeds (after the $1,000.00 cash prize) will be going to KidSport.

This is your chance to help this great cause and win money for yourself (and maybe pay off your Christmas credit card) by predicting the players who will be selected to Team Canada for Men’s Hockey for the 2014 Olympics.

The cost to enter the pool is $20 and it is limited to the first 1,000 entries. First prize will be $1,000.  The draw will be made January 6, 2014.

To obtain the entry form and all the details go to either www.kidsportvictoria.ca or www.victoriafirefighters.con
