Raiders swing trade with Hitmen

December 28, 2013, Prince Albert SK (ISN) – The Prince Albert Raiders have traded for 19-year-old centre/left-winger Calder Brooks and a 2nd round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for 19-year-old left-winger Mike Winther.

Brooks, a native of Emerald Park, Saskatchewan, has scored 8 goals and added 9 assists for 17 points in 31 games this season. In 107 WHL games, the 6′, 185-pound Brooks has recorded 52 points on 18 goals and 34 assists, along with a career plus-17 rating.

Winther has spent the previous 4 seasons with the Raiders, potting 66 goals and 64 assists for 130 points in 218 games. The Trochu, Alberta product has scored 3 times, adding 11 assists for 14 points in 18 game splayed this season.

He is a versatile player that can play in many situations and will fit in nicely with our current mix of forwards,” said Raiders General Manager Bruno Campese. “We would like to thank Mike for his contributions to the Raider organization on and off the ice during the past four years.
