January 2, 2014 (ISN) – Victoria HarbourCats General Manager Jim Swanson is included on the year-ending list of most influential people in Canadian baseball.

Swanson was also on the list in previous years for his work running the World Baseball Challenge, for his coaching with youth and adult sports up to international levels, and for being an instructor with Toronto Blue Jays youth camps in B.C.

The rankings are published annually on the Canadian Baseball Network site, and the full rankings can be found here: http://www.canadianbaseballnetwork.com

Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun, the top baseball writer in Canada, puts the list together every year.

The HarbourCats would like to recognize the many Victorians who are on the list — Walt Burrows, Steve Wilson, Gautam Srivastava, Mike Chewpoy, Tim Hallgren (Detroit Tigers scout), Anthony Pluta, Michael Saunders, and Bob Smyth of Ladysmith and Doug Rogers of Nanaimo.
