January 8, 2014, Vancouver, B.C. (ISN) – Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager, Michael D. Gillis, announced today the reassignment of forward, Benn Ferriero.
Ferriero, 26, appeared in two games for the Canucks this season. He has also played 32 games with Canucks AHL Affiliate, the Utica Comets, recording 22 points (10-12-22) and 10 penalty minutes in the 2013-14 season. Ferriero has played 98 career NHL games between the Vancouver Canucks, San Jose Sharks and New York Rangers, scoring 23 points (14-9-23) with 25 penalty minutes in addition to one point and six penalty minutes in eight NHL playoff games.
The 5’11”, 185-pound forward signed with the Canucks as a free agent on July 12, 2013. A native of Essex, Massachusetts, Ferriero was originally drafted by Phoenix, 196th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
