January 9, 2014 (ISN) – Today three of Canada’s best alpine skiers add to their Olympic résumé by being named to the Sochi team. Mont-Tremblant’s Erik Guay will become a a three-time Olympian, as will Vancouver boy Manuel Osborne-Paradis. Calgary’s Jan Hudec qualifies for his second team.
It has already been a historic year for Guay, who just after Christmas broke Steve Podborski’s record for most career World Cup podiums at 21. Jan Hudec also has recent World Cup success to his credit.
The national men’s alpine ski team is an experienced bunch, led by these three and others who still have a chance to fill out remaining Olympic spots. Those Sochi tickets will be determined later this month.
It will be time on the road now for the team, as preparations for Sochi 2014 continue.
