January 10, 2014 (ISN) – Vancouver Island Baseball Institute (VIBI) is pleased to announce the schedule and details of the Spring 2014 VIBI Youth Training Camps set for January and February in Nanaimo.
VIBI Training Camps offer players at the 13U and 15U levels to work with 9th year VIBI head coach, Jordan Blundell (Edmonton, AB), who oversees the indoor portion of the camps, which will take place at the Centennial Centre at Beban Park. Blundell will be assisted in sessions by members of the 2014 VIBI roster, who are currently training for the 2014 Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC) season.
Participants should be prepared for both indoor and outdoor activities, as activities will be weather dependant.
The weight training portion of the camps will be directed by Curtis Vizza at Over The Hurdle Athletics, in Nanaimo. Vizza is the strength & conditioning coach for VIBI. All workouts in this camps have been specifically designed for the 13U and 15U ages.
There will be 20 on-field sessions held at the Centennial Centre at Beban Park. They will run Tuesdays (4:00 – 5:30 pm), Thursdays (4:00 – 5:30 pm) and Saturdays (1:00 – 2:45 pm) throughout January and February, along with 7 weight training sessions at Over The Hurdle.
(Over The Hurdle: January 10, 17, 24, 31, Feb 7, 14, 21. All sessions begin at 5:15 pm)
