by Michel Belanger

January 13, 2014, Montreal (ISN) – The RSEQ is pleased to annouce the 2014 university football schedule today.

The schedule formula remains the same. Each team will play an eight (8) game regular season schedule. Each team will play each other once for a total of five games, two other games on the schedule are determined by the previous year’s standings where the last three teams and first three teams will play each other twice respectively. Finally, four teams will play against the Atlantic University Sport members while the two remaining RSEQ teams will play each other. Each team will have a bye weekend.

The top four teams following regular season play qualify for the RSEQ university football playoffs. The second-place team will host the third-place team and the first-place team will host the fourth-place team in the semifinals on the weekend immediately following regular season play. The winners of both semifinals will play for the Dunsmore Cup that will be hosted by the top seed reamining.

The 2014 calendar is scheduled to start on the weekend of September 6 and will conclude with the Vanier Cup on November 29.

The RSEQ University member institutions are currently finalizing the official calendar including dates, hours and television schedule. The official calendar will be available shortly.
