OTTAWA – Swimming Canada has recognized Benoit Lebrun with a Big Splash Award for his work with para-swimming star Benoit Huot.

Lebrun will receive the Team Aquatic Supplies Coach of the Year (Male Para-Swimmer) Award as the coach of record for Huot, who was named Male Para-Swimmer of the Year for 2013.

The annual Big Splash Awards recognize the best performances in Canadian swimming.

Huot earned accolades for himself and coaches Lebrun and Pierre Lamy on the strength of his gold medal in the S10 200-metre individual medley at IPC World Championships in Montreal.

Montreal was the first North American city to host since the event was implemented in 1998, and Huot sent the hometown crowd happy after capturing the 23rd world championships medal of his career.
