January 13, 2014 (ISN) – It is time for yet another update on ISN’s favourite anthem singer, Michelle Szulc! ISN is happy to report that Michelle is doing very well, and keeping extremely busy on the anthem scene.
In her last update, Michelle informed us on her most recent visit to Victoria, as well as a performance of O Canada for the Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers during their 2013/2014 pre-season. Since then, Michelle has continued to stay active amongst hockey teams, in particular singing for the BCHL Surrey Eagles, Coquitlam Express and Langley Rivermen. She has also been entertaining the crowds by singing during intermissions at these games. At her most recent Langley Rivermen game, Michelle even brought out her accompanying guitar player to perform several covers and originals.

Michelle has further sung for a handful of Vancouver Giants games this season, with her next one being on January 22nd 2014. Michelle says that the most exciting of these games was definitely on November 15th 2013, when the Medicine Hat Tigers were in town. This game was particularly exciting for many fans because it featured the Vancouver Canucks draft pick Hunter Shinkaruk!

Michelle was also fortunate enough to sing for the Abbotsford Heat on November 9th 2013, where she met hockey legend Mike Bossy! Michelle further volunteered her time a few weeks ago to sing for the Guns n’ Hoses Cops for Cancer event (for the third time!), which helps raise money for childhood cancers.

Moving on from hockey, Michelle was extremely honoured and excited to have been chosen as one of the official singers for the new NLL Vancouver Stealth! Michelle will be singing the Star-Spangled Banner on game days that feature a visiting American team. The team had their home opener (which was a huge success) on January 11th 2014. The Vancouver Sun (Gord Kurenoff) reported that “…the opening ceremonies featured two of the best anthem singers you’ll hear perform anywhere”, further calling Michelle’s performance “Rogers Arena-worthy”. Michelle is extremely thankful for the opportunity the Vancouver Stealth is providing her with, and she looks forward to the next home game that is taking place on January 17th 2014.

Michelle is pleased to announce that she will once again be returning to Victoria on February 4th and 5th 2014 to sing for the Victoria Royals as the team takes on the Calgary Hitmen. Michelle is also requesting a VERY SMALL sponsorship to help her with her travels to the island. In return, the sponsor will receive tickets to the game of their choice (either February 4th or 5th), an honourable mention on Michelle’s social media pages, as well as in her next update for ISN, and lastly, a very nice gift. Anyone who is interested in helping Michelle has been asked to email her directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Aside from her many anthem adventures, Michelle has further been keeping busy performing covers and originals at several local bars, and also donating her time to perform at breast cancer awareness events, such as the All Pink Party hosted by Keep A Breast Canada. Michelle will be posting other exciting event information (as it comes) on Facebook, www.facebook.com/michelleszulc, and she can also be followed on Twitter @michelleszulc.
