Royals invite fans to play shinny at Uptown tomorrow

January 14, 2014, Victoria (ISN) – The Victoria Royals would like to invite fans to join players and Marty the Marmot at Uptown on Wednesday, January 15th between 4:00-6:00 p.m. for a game of shinny hockey.

The event is being held, rain or shine, to raise awareness for the club’s seventh annual Pink in the Rink game in support of the BC Cancer Foundation.

In conjunction with Uptown, 103.1 Jack FM, 98.5 Ocean, CHEK, DAVIDsTEA and Good Earth, the Royals welcome fans to meet players, get autographs and play a little hockey underneath the clock tower on Uptown Boulevard tomorrow afternoon.

Marty the Marmot will also be on hand at Uptown between 4:00-6:00 p.m. and will be giving fans the chance to win tickets and Pink in the Rink merchandise!

Fans in attendance will be treated to complimentary beverages from DAVIDsTEA and Good Earth! Participants will also be eligible for other prizes from event partners!

Participating Victoria Royals players will be available to the media throughout the event.
