January 16, 2014, VANCOUVER (ISN) – The competitive freestyle season continues this week with the Mazda Snowboard Jamboree presented by Videotron in Stoneham, Quebec.

This is the last Canadian Olympic qualifier for both slopestyle and halfpipe disciplines, therefore the last chance for Canadian athletes to prove themselves worthy of a coveted Olympic spot. The course starts off with three jumps, which range from 50-60 feet, it then moves into a bottom rail section composed of three rail features. The team at Arena Snowparks have once again delivered a great World Cup course. The Jamboree starts today January 16th and will continue through to January 19th.

In addition to the Slopestyle and Halfpipe contests held in Stoneham, the season’s only Big Air competition will take place in downtown Quebec. This jaw-dropping spectacle will allow the worlds best freestyle athletes to battle it out with thousands in attendance.

On the other side of the World, The Canadian alpine snowboard team is in action this weekend at the World Cup in Rogla, Slovenia. This will also be the last chance for athletes to secure an invitation to the Olympic team. The event takes place Saturday, January 18th.
