January 18, 2014, Park City, Utah (ISN) – In the second straight night of Halfpipe action, Americans swept both Men’s and Women’s events tonight in at the US Grand Prix of Freeskiing.
Angell Vanlaanen scored 88.20 point to take the Women’s Gold. Brita Sigourney scored 83.00 to take Silver and Devin Logan scored 80.00 to take Bronze.
Keltie Hansen of Edmonton AB scored 69.80 points to end up in fifth position. No other Candian women competed.
In Men’s halfpipe action, Americans Lyman Currier scored 92.60 and took home the gold. Aaron Blunck took home silver with a score of 92.00 and with 91.40 points, Gus Kenworthy took ownership of the Bronze medal.
Best Canadian was Mike Riddle of Sherwood Park AB with his sixth place finish and a score of 88.80.
“It was a disappointing night,” said coach Trennon Paynter, “ we were hoping to hit the podium. But the good thing was Keltie had her best result this year, and Mike Riddle performed a brand new run – thst he landed. It will happen.”

In Aerial news tonight. Under the lights in Lake Placid, China’s Nina Li took home Gold, Danielle Scott of Australia was second and Xin Zhang of China came third.
Sabrina Guerin of Laval finished 10th. In Men’s action, Dimitri Dashinski of Belarus came first. Guangpu Qi of China came second and Liu Zhongqing of China was third. Milton, Ontario’s Travis Gerrits did not compete.
