January 21, 2104, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The second race in the Frontrunners Island Race Series – Cobble Hill 10K – takes place on Sunday, January 26 at 11 am. The race starts and finishes at George Bonner Middle School, Cobble Hill Road. The 10K is hosted by the CEEVACS Road Runners.
Runners can register online until midnight, Wednesday January 22 at www.vira.bc.ca or on race day. Race registration until January 22 is $25 for adults and $20 for students. Race day fees are $35 and $30 for students.
“We are expecting a field in excess of 500 runners taking on our flat, fast course,” said Race Director, Ian Milne, “We know we will have a fast field, and could see some age category course records fall. We look forward to seeing Geoff Martinson return to take on his course record of 30:46 set in last year’s race”.
Eight races make up the Frontrunners Island Race Series. Cobble Hill 10K will be followed by Cedar 12K on February 9, Hatley Castle 8K on February 23, Synergy Health Management Ltd Bazan Bay 5K on March 9, Comox Valley RV Half Marathon on March 23, Merville 15K on April 6, and Sooke River 10K on April 13. Synergy Health Management Ltd Bazan Bay 5K and the Comox Valley RV Half Marathon are part of the Timex BC Series. All races are sanctioned by BC Athletics.
