January 22, 2014, Victoria (ISN) – Come run with University of Victoria President Jamie Cassels to promote healthy and active living. The next noon-hour run will be on Friday, February 7, during UVic Alumni Week, and will be the fourth run since the launch on September 6.
Whether you already run with friends on campus, want to get outdoors for a mid-day break or want to feel energized for the afternoon, you are welcome to participate in the event.
The upcoming Alumni Week run on February 7 is held in conjunction with the UVic Alumni Association and hosts, Vikes Athletics and Recreation, whose staff and volunteers provide a warm-up and support along the four to six kilometre route. Runners of all fitness levels are invited to join us on campus to meet new people, see old friends, get outdoors and have an opportunity to talk with the president.
The run will begin in the Student Affairs Plaza, between McKinnon Gym and UVic Bookstore, and will include a warm-up with fitness tips and runners will be sorted into smaller groups to suit each individual’s pace. People of all fitness levels are invited to participate.
