2014 Jr A lacrosse Midget Entry Draft

BCJr Lacrosse

January 26, 2014, Port Coquitlam (ISN) – The 2014 Graduating Midget draft was held by the BC Junior A Lacrosse League today in Port Coquitlam.

In total 48 players were selected with Victoria taking 9 and Nanaimo 8. I have attached a spreadsheet for you.

From a Victoria prospective we were very pleased with the results as we were able to select 4 of the 5 players from our assessments.

A brief Bio of the Victoria selections are below in order.

Taylor Martin

From Cowichan, Taylor is a Right handed offensive player who can cover both ends of the floor. He was a leader on the Cowichan team that finished third in the province last year

Apollo Claxton

Also from the Cowichan Valley. Left handed goalie and first goaltender selected.

Trevor Owens

From the Peninsula Lacrosse Association. Very skilled offensively, can play both ends, big strong kid. left hander.

Colton Merilainen

Also from Peninsula, natural goal scorer right hander.

Guy Cullen

Another Peninsula pick, Left handed transition can play both ends of the floor well.

Jory Clermont

From the Oceanside Lacrosse Association. Good all round skills

James Thomson

Again from Peninsula. Right effective transition player. strengths are on defence

Jaycob Dhillon

Saanich player, right handed Transition player. strong defensive skills.

Kurtis Young

Peninsula, right handed defensive transition player, very athletic
