January 29, 2014, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Victoria Royals will welcome the Vancouver Giants for a two-game home stand this weekend. Friday will mark TELUS Night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre while Saturday night is the Royals’ third annual Pink in the Rink game in support of the BC Cancer Foundation!

The Royals are offering three ticket options for fans wishing to attend Saturday’s game and support the BC Cancer Foundation.

  • The Pink in the Rink Family Pack is $55 and includes four tickets plus a coupon for two giveaway items with $10 from each package donated to the BC Cancer Foundation!
  • Individual tickets in corner and end sections can be bought for $16 with $3 from each ticket donated to the BC Cancer Foundation.
  • Groups of 10 or more can also purchase tickets for just $12 each while $2 from every ticket benefits the BC Cancer Foundation!

These three special offers must be purchased on or before tomorrow, January 30th.

With plenty of off-ice excitement at this weekend’s games, the on-ice action could be even better. The Giants (24-19-5-3) roll onto the Island after dropping the first of three consecutive meetings with the Royals on Saturday in Vancouver, but still hold an even 3-3-0-0 record and have only been outscored 18-17 in the season series. Sitting in seventh place in the Western Conference, Dalton Sward has been red hot for Vancouver of late. While Sward has just 19 points (13g-6a) on the season so far, he has notched seven of his goals in his past seven games played. Carter Popoff remains the Giants biggest offensive threat with 54 points (11g-43a) through 51 games.

The Royals (33-16-0-2) are winners of their past three after dates with Medicine Hat, Kamloops and Vancouver, and still sit in third place of the Western Conference standings. Two wins against Vancouver this weekend would go a long way towards helping the club claim a season series win over their B.C. Division rivals. Brandon Magee has continued to produce for Victoria and is the team’s leading scorer by five points now with 46 (18g-28a) on the year. Logan Nelson is also starting to find his stride after a return to the lineup and has four points in his last four games.
