February 4, 2014, Saskatchewan (ISN) – Volunteering is a time-honoured tradition in Saskatchewan. We pride ourselves on lending a helping hand and getting involved. I enjoy being involved, especially when I can show my Huskie pride at the same time.
As an alumnus of the U of S and Huskie Athletics, I feel nothing but pride for our Huskie athletes, coaches and volunteers. These folks are dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to make Huskie Athletics the tremendous success it has been and will be in the future.
I’m writing you today to invite you to show your Huskie pride by volunteering for the PotashCorp Men’s Hockey University Cup presented by Co-op from March 20 – 23, 2014. This four day national tournament will feature the U of S Huskie men’s hockey team as they take on the best in university hockey. Huskie Athletics, the local organizing committee, and SaskEnergy, our “Champion of Volunteers”, are calling for volunteers to make this year’s championships the best ever. We would love to have you involved!
Volunteer opportunities include transportation, security, special events, hosting, game operations, usher, and media and communications. Day and evening shifts are available. Registering to volunteer is easy – visit http://huskies.usask.ca/universitycup/volunteers.php to complete the form. There is no charge to volunteer, a t-shirt uniform will be provided and everyone is invited to the orientation dinner and the wrap-up party! I hope that you will join me by showing your Huskie and Saskatchewan pride by volunteering at the PotashCorp Men’s Hockey University Cup presented by Co-op in March.
