February 5, 2014, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan (ISN) – 11 year Canadian Football League veteran middle linebacker Mike McCullough of the 2013 Grey Cup Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders will be the guest speaker at the 9th Annual SaskPower Training for Life Power Breakfast, Tuesday, March 18th at 7:00 AM in the Ches Leach Lounge. Proceeds from the breakfast go to Special Olympics Saskatchewan and the Prince Albert Raider Education Fund.
McCullough, from Kingston, Ontario has played all 11 seasons with the Green and White and now calls Regina home. In 2013 he came back from a torn bicep muscle in training camp to be a starter for most the second half of the season including the playoff games and the Riders 43-25 win over Hamilton in the Grey Cup hosted in Regina. He is one of the key members of the Riders that has been part of the clubs transformation over the years into a dominant franchise on and off the field.
The first eight Training for Life Power Breakfasts have featured the likes of Jungle Jim Hunter, George Reed, Jeremy O’Day, Sami Jo Small, Mark Tewksbury, Carla McLeod , Jim Hopson and Tom Wright and have all sold out. Over $40,000 has been raised over the first eight breakfasts for both Special Olympics and the Raider Education Fund.
SaskPower is the presenting sponsor of the event with major sponsors Kin Enterprises, AODBT, Mr.Plumber, Conexus Credit Union, Broda Construction, Frank Dunn Toyota, River Park Funeral Chapel and Freedom 55 Financial. Tables of 8 for the event are $225 each and available from committee members. A limited number of individual tickets, which are $30 each are available at the Prince Albert Raiders Office.
