February 4, 2014 (ISN) – In the only regular season match for the club, the Velox 3rds took on a short staffed CW squad.
After loaning some players and agreeing on 13-aside, Velox came out ahead 34-10. Later in the afternoon, self-proclaimed chili master John Lyall took home top honours in the chili contest during the Superbowl halftime. This win must be particularly gratifying for John as, unlike his last win, this time there were other entries in the contest.
The Valhallians and Academy played exhibition matches against the Vikes and Saxons, losing both.
This weekend, the Valhallians head to Comox on Saturday, while the 3rds and Academy get byes. The women are off as well, with the Premier schedule set to start on February 15th (away to SFU).
Rookie Night will be this Thursday, February 6th, at 8pm. Come help welcome all our new players to the club!
Tickets to the second annual $10k raffle draw are now being sold by all players. Only 200 tickets sold, $100 a tickets and the winner takes home $10,000. Buy one by yourself or get a syndicate together. Draw will be at the club on March 15th but tickets are selling fast this season so buy one soon.
