February 11, 2014, Vancouver, BC (ISN) – BC Adaptive Snowsports is very pleased to announce it is the recipient of a $5000 RBC Foundation grant in support of its Snowbility program.

Snowbility improves accessibility to adaptive snowsports throughout British Columbia through the establishment and growth of sustainable ski and snowboard programs. The program provides mentoring, sharing of best practices, and on-site development of training and instruction programs for local clubs.

“A disability should not be a barrier to enjoying an active life” says BC Adaptive Snowsports Executive Director, Wayne Leslie. “Our Snowbility program plays a key role in reducing barriers by training local volunteer instructors who work directly with participants. We are very grateful for RBC’s support of this important work”.

BC Adaptive Snowsports currently has 12 adaptive snows sport programs and hundreds of dedicated volunteers throughout the province.
