Day 9: Hudec wins alpine medal, SBX silver for Maltais, Drew Doughty scores all the goals

February 16, 2014 (ISN) – Canada lit up the first half of the Sochi day, Jan Hudec won Canada’s first men’s alpine medal in 20 years…then in the afternoon, Dominique Maltais nailed down a silver in ladies’ snowboard cross.

Oh, and get this, Canada’s curling rinks are a combined 15-and-2. Thought we’d throw that in there. Finally, the night ended with Drew Doughty scoring both goals for the red and white, including an OT marker. Canada beat Finland 2-1.
