#Beardmode receives boost for four-man at Sochi

February 22, 2014, Sochi, Russia (ISN) – The #Beardmode phenomenon has received a boost ahead of Saturday’s opening runs in the four-man Olympic bobsleigh.

Justin Kripps – who has gained a loyal Twitter following under the hashtag #Beardmode thanks partially to his facial mane – has shown to be the most effective bobsleigh pilot on the Olympic track at Sanki.

Kripps, in his Canada-3 sled, was in fourth place after the first three runs and went for broke in the final before finishing sixth.

The announcement was made on Bobsleigh Canada’s Facebook page, with the following sentiment:

“These difficult decisions have been made by both the coaches and teams with the best interest of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Team.”

There are four runs in Olympic bobsleigh. Run four on Sunday will determine the medallists, though due to cumulative times for standings, every trip to the track is crucial.

Here are the teams:

Chris Spring (pilot), Tim Randall, James McNaughton, & Bryan Barnett

Lyndon Rush (pilot), Lascelles Brown, David Bissett, & Neville Wright

Justin Kripps (pilot), Jesse Lumsden, Cody Sorenson, & Ben Coakwell
