February 28, 2014, Calgary (ISN) – Are you disappointed that the Olympics are over? Now is your chance to meet Luge athlete Kim McRae and some of the other Luge Olympic team in person at COP. Be one of the first 80 people to sign up and join us on Saturday March 8th for the Luge Ride Against Prostate Cancer.
Kim faced prostate cancer first hand as a close relative was recently diagnosed. She wants to use her experience at the 2014 Olympics to have other’s share in the excitement and the opportunity to raise funds for Calgary’s own Prostate Cancer Centre.
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men. On average 2,500 men in Alberta or one in seven men will be diagnosed with the disease and eight will die each week. Early detection saves lives. Help men win the race against prostate cancer.
Lugers will have the opportunity to invite their friends and family to join in their fundraising efforts as they take a turn on the ultimate toboggan ride. You can learn more and register at www.raiseathon.ca/lugeagainstcancer
The Man Van™ will be on site from 2:00-5:00pm to offer men over age 40 a free baseline PSA blood test.
