February 27, 2014, Victoria (ISN) – It’s playoff time within the Victoria Hockey League and on Thursday night it was game 1 of the best of 3, between the Sharks and the Lions at Wurtele Arena in Naden, and what a game it was.

Matt Thomson was between the pipes for the Lions and Dave Brumby was in for the Sharks and as hard as both teams worked during the first period, only two goals were scored and it was one for each team.

It was the Sharks who struck first and it was Kelly Reynolds who buried the puck in behind Thomson at 13:36. The Lions didn’t answer back until near the end of the period when Braden Kmita beat Brumby at 2:04 getting his team on the board and tying the game at one a piece after twenty minutes.

The second period chalked up six goals, and once the game was all tied up at 3, things got a little bit more intense. Both teams were determined to take the win which made for a very exciting hockey game to all the spectators in the stands.
