March 4, 2014, Edmonton (ISN) – The Edmonton Oil Kings are set for their quest to take back the Ed Chynoweth Cup in the WHL postseason, announcing their first two home dates of the playoffs on Tuesday.
Tickets for the first two games of the WHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinal will go on sale Wednesday, March 5 at 10 a.m. and are available online at oilkings.ca, the Rexall Place Box Office or any Ticketmaster location. Individual “day-of-game” tickets for the first round of the playoffs still start at just $20.
The Oil Kings will host their first-round opponent at Rexall Place for Games 1 and 2 of the series on Saturday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 23 at 4:00 p.m.
Edmonton’s first round opponent is still to be determined as teams wind up the final two weeks of the regular season. The Oil Kings are currently in a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Calgary Hitmen but hold the tiebreaker by virtue of more wins and a game in hand. The Oil Kings have just eight regular season games remaining including this week’s road trip through the East Division that will see them play four games in five nights beginning tonight in Swift Current.
Game 1 of the playoffs will be another WHL/NHL doubleheader with the Oilers hosting the Calgary Flames later that evening. Game 2 will be a bonus Family Fun Sunday presented by Mott’s Fruitsations, the Edmonton SUN and CISN Country 103.9. The game will feature a kids’ carnival with bouncy castles, face painters, balloon artists and more.
The $99 Oil Kings Playoff Pass presented by ATB Financial is already available. One of the best playoff deals in hockey returns to Rexall Place this season as fans can access every home game of the Oil Kings 2014 postseason for one low price with great seats in the lower half of the upper bowl. Playoff Passes are available at Edmonton Oil Kings and Edmonton Oilers home games, and at oilkings.ca.
