March 8, 2014, BOSTON, Mass. (ISN) – The Towson University women’s indoor track and field team team was represented at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet on Saturday, held on the campus of Boston University.

Juniors Elizabeth Tauber and Kara Bucaro and sophomore Maggie Rampolla competed for the Tigers in the 5,000-meter run, the 1,000-meter run and the pole vault, respectively.

Tauber, Towson’s school record-holder in the 5,000-meter run, came in 22nd place with a time of 17:28.76 in the event.

Bucaro, who used a brilliant race at George Mason on the regular season’s last weekend to qualify for the ECAC’s, timed 2:58.95.

Rampolla placed highest for the Tigers, finishing 11th in the pole vault with a 11′ 11.75″ result. Rampolla, the school record-holder, gained invaluable experience, according to Towson Head Coach Roger Erricker.

“To come and vault at a big meet like this, she really represented herself well,” he said. “It can be intimidating. But it was good for her and hopefully, it will translate well heading to the outdoor season.”
