March 17, 2014, Vancouver (ISN) – The Vancouver Canucks will hold their 24th annual Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon, presented by Chevrolet on Wednesday, March 19th at Rogers Arena with all proceeds supporting the Canucks for Kids Fund.
The Telethon airs on TEAM 1040 Sports Radio from 6:00 a.m. until Midnight and on Sportsnet during the Canucks broadcast versus the Nashville Predators from 6:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Telethon broadcast, hosted by Sportsnet personality Craig MacEwen, Canucks alumnus Trevor Linden and returning host Suneil Samra, will feature numerous stories highlighting the special bond between the children of British Columbia and Canucks players, coaches, staff and alumni.
Canucks wives, significant others, sponsor partners, Canucks for Kids Fund Directors and volunteers will be taking donations by phone at 1-85-KIDSFUND (1-855-437-3863) on the celebrity panel on March 19th. Donations will also be accepted at the game, where volunteers will collect contributions during the latter half of the first period in the bowl. Fans can also go to Canucks.com to donate online.
All Telethon donors who give $100 will receive an exclusive “Pavel Bure: Forever a Canuck” picture, commemorating Bure’s sweater retirement ceremony. For donations of $150 or more, donors will also receive the “Canucks Class of 2014” photo featuring current and former members of the Vancouver Canucks in their nation’s sweaters as well as the “Pavel Bure: Forever a Canuck” photograph. All who enter by midnight on March 19th will have a chance to win a 2014 Chevrolet Trax LTZ (contest details on Canucks.com). The Canucks for Kids Fund gratefully acknowledges the support of Chevrolet, Rogers, Fasken Martineau, Integrated Health Clinic, Sportsnet, Team 1040 and the Vancouver Sun.

The Canucks for Kids Fund (CFKF) is in its 28th year of giving back to children’s charities in British Columbia and has given more than $43 million in that span. During the 2012.13 season, the Canucks for Kids Fund donated more than $2.6 million. The Canucks for Kids Fund is dedicated to supporting children’s charities in our province and has played a key role in creating and sustaining Canucks Autism Network, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Canucks Family Education Centre, Canucks Centre for BC Hockey and a number of educational programs.
